Positions

The Center for Design and Geopolitics is growing quickly and we are actively recruiting the most qualified and motivated talent to collaborate with us in our work.

Our organization is comprised of many different roles, and we are looking to fill positions in the following areas. Please send a letter of interest and CV to positions@dgp.ucsd.edu

Research Assistants

We have a limited number of paid and unpaid research assistant positions for 2012-13. Our RA's are usually people with valuable skills related either to our research process or our research topic.

Visiting Designers & Strategist Residencies

We have a residency program for California-based designers and design strategists whose work directly intersects our own, methodologically, empirically or technologically, and who would benefit from temporarily relocating their work site to be part of ours.

Please send a short (1 page) summary of your work and a brief research proposal for initial consideration.

Visiting Scholar Residencies

We have a residency program for California-based scholars whose work directly intersects our own, and who would benefit from temporarily relocating their work site to be part of ours. These typically are persons currently undertaking PhD., MA, MFA work.

Please send a short (1 page) summary of your work and a brief research proposal for initial consideration.

Interns

We have several positions for internships for students, designers or scientists interested in working directly with the Center for Design and Geopolitics.

Our interns work closely with our consortium and provide much of the important research for our projects, planning, organizing, visualizing, communicating, validating. A wide range of skill sets is required and sought. We have architects, artists, economists, electrical engineers, literature majors, etc. Hours are considerable but flexible.

We give priority for intern positions to UCSD affiliates, then other UC, but are always interested in working with uniquely well-suited persons for short or long term internships.

As possible we provide our interns with hands-on experience and direct contact with consortium partners.
